Backup Blocks
at card level
Backup Blocks is where memory gets measured inside Custom Backup. No estimates. No pretending. Just proof.
Most students revise blindly. They do not know what they actually remember. Backup Blocks changes that. It tracks performance at the card level and shows the reality of your memory in full clarity.
The Six Memory States
Every card moves through a structured progression. Memory is earned.
- •Last Wrong. Incorrect last attempt. Priority target.
- •Learning. One success. Not stable yet.
- •Learnt. Two correct recalls. Baseline understanding.
- •Skilled. Reliable recall.
- •Mastered. High confidence over time.
- •Memorised. Peak retention.
States change only through real performance.
Direct Attempts
Direct Attempts allow focused correction. Launch from Backup Blocks and challenge a single card directly.
Fast correction compounds progress.
Opacity Levels
Accuracy should be visible without reading numbers.
Opacity reflects correctness history.
Free:
- •Dim under 50 percent accuracy
- •Bright 50 percent or above
Plus / Pro:
- •20, 40, 60, 80, 100 percent tiers
More opacity means more trust in your knowledge.
Locked Blocks and Locked Badges
Memory states beyond Learnt are visible but locked for Free users.
Skilled, Mastered and Memorised operations are greyed.
Clicking still reveals:
- •Verification status
- •Direct Attempts access
In practice sessions, the same lock appears as grey badges on the mastery ladder.
Free learns. Plus masters. Pro publishes.
Backup Blocks vs Advanced Mode
Backup Blocks is the dashboard of truth.
Advanced Mode is the control room.
Backup Blocks shows your weaknesses.
Advanced Mode gives you the tools to fix them.
Backup Blocks includes:
- •Direct Attempts
- •Opacity Levels
- •Locked Blocks
- •Analytics and trends
Advanced Mode adds:
- •Weak First
- •Due First
- •Retry
- •CB Hint
Both drive mastery together.
Purpose
Students do not struggle because they are incapable. They struggle because memory fades.
Real progress is precision. Know exactly where the weak points are. Attack them directly. Track the climb.
Backup Blocks is built for that.
